Great War 1914-1915 Star trio and Belgian Croix De Guerre group awarded to Gunner T. Matthews, Royal Garrison Artillery who saw service in Egypt from 3rd April 1915 and would later be awarded the Belgian Croix De Guerre in the London Gazette of 15th April 1918.

Thomas Matthews was from Stanford Rivers originally and later resided in Ongar before seeing service as a Gunner, later Serjeant (no. 28182) with the Royal Garrison Artillery in Egypt from 3rd April 1915. He would later be awarded the Belgian Croix De Guerre in the London Gazette of 15th April 1918.
