Germany - Third Reich: German Aviation Industry “Flieger Talisman” Plaque, circa 1935, aluminium metal medallion by Rudolf Reutenbach of Solingen, who made the metalwork for aircraft. Complete with its original leather pouch, this also stamped ‘Flieger Talisman’ - ‘Aviator Talisman’. Rare.

Aluminium, the obverse with the wording ‘Flieger Talisman’ - ‘Aviator Talisman’ and three biplanes flying right, the reverse with the wording ‘Fuer unsere fliegerei ist das beste material gerade gut genug’ - ‘the best material is just good enough for our flying’,and a large letter ‘R’ within diamond, measuring 40 mm in diameter.
Rudolf Reutenbach of Solingen, made the metalwork of aircraft, and his aero-engine component factory was bombed and destroyed during the Second World War on 3rd May 1944.
