During the Nazi era, the General German Automobile Club was renamed The German Automobile Club (DDAC) as part of the process of coordination. On 14 March 1933, the executive board made a statement to the Chancellor that the ADAC supported the government. On May 3, 1933, the Aryan paragraph was added to the statutes. According to the Berliner Zeitung (BZ) at noon on September 28, 1933, the ADAC was dissolved and renamed the DDAC. All assets and liabilities were transferred to the DDAC. The members of the ADAC were taken over by the DDAC, with the exception of the so-called non-Aryans. The ADAC staff was kept on the basis of old contracts until mid-November 1933 - then a new decision was made.
