Germany - Third Reich: A scarce wartime manufacturer’s display board for the Lüdenscheid badge and medal maker, Wilhelm Deumer, including the Iron Cross 2nd Class; War Merit Cross with Swords 1st and 2nd Class; Prinzen 1939 Bar to the 2nd Class Iron Cross; Social Welfare Medal; Wound Badge in Black; Krim Shield; Narvik Shield; War Merit Medal; Mother’s Cross, bronze grade in miniature; Driver’s Qualification badge, bronze grade; Labour Service, bronze grade Long Service Medal; What Wall Medal; Bomber Clasp, silver grade, and Imperial German, Baden 2nd Class Service Medal for 12 years service. Picked up in Germany in 1945 by Sergeant Mary Louise Millner of the ATS and brought home as souvenirs.

1/ - Bomber Clasp, silver grade
2/ - Labour Service, bronze grade Long Service Medal
3/ - Driver’s Qualification badge, bronze grade
4/ - Mother’s Cross, bronze grade in miniature
5/ - Imperial Germany: Baden, 2nd Class Service Medal for 12 years service.
6/ - War Merit Cross 2nd Class
7/ - Social Welfare Medal
8/ - Prinzen 1939 Bar to the 2nd Class Iron Cross
9/ - Iron Cross 2nd Class, ring stamped 3
10/ - Wound Badge, Black Grade, embossed with maker mark 3 to reverse.
11/ - War Merit Cross with Swords 1st class, mid-war plated zinc example,
12/ - Narvik Shield, lacking fittings to reverse
13/ - West Wall Medal
14/ - Krim Shield, complete with 4 lugs to reverse.
15/ - War Merit Medal, with maker stamp to ring.
Together with an old typed list of the medals and badges attached to the board.
Condition: Badge and medals generally Good Very Fine and as described, the board creased vertically through the middle..
Mary Louise Millner was a Clerk and typist with the ATS who embarked for overseas service in North West Europe in March 1945. This board was picked up in Germany and kept as a souvenir.
