Germany - Third Reich: 1939 Bar to the Iron Cross 1914 2nd Class, full-size version, complete with all four prongs on reverse. A superb example of type with L/13 maker mark for Paul Meybauer, Berlin, to the lower central reverse. Fitted to an old original piece of WW1 2nd Class Iron Cross ribbon.
Condition: Minor manufacturing flaw to lower left arm in the form of a solder run, otherwise Extremely Fine.
The 1939 bar was awarded to recipients of the 1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class who then showed significant bravery or merit again in the Second World War. During the war, over 100,000 clasps were awarded, though specific numbers are not known
