On 14th November 1914 Furst Adolph reinstated the Kreuz fur Treue Dienste (which ad originally been created by Furst Adolph George as the commemorative cross for 1870-1871, intended primarily for officers and men of the regiments of which he was Colonel-in-chief; the 2nd Kurhessischen Hussars, Regiment No.14 of the Cavalry Division, the Westphalian Jager Battalion, No.7 and the Rhenish Hussars Regiment, No.7.
