Germany - Empire and Baden: Pair of awards comprising: Iron Cross 1914 2nd Class, ring stamped: ‘KO’; Baden: Long Service Award, 3rd Class for 9 Years’ Service, 1913-1918 issue. Mounted German court style as worn, ribbons all bearing a matching fade, the backing cloth also period to the mounting from the late First World War to 1920’s period.

Condition: evidence of wear, Good Very Fine.

The Baden Long Service Award was instituted by Grand Duke Friedrich II on 18th December 1913, replacing the previous ‘Bandschnalle’ (buckle) form, to acknowledge the completion of nine years’ service in the Baden army by non-commissioned officers.
