Thomas William Murphy was born in Islington, Resided at King’s Cross and enlisted at Holborn before he enlisted and saw service as a Private (No. G/3563) with the 7th Battalion, East Kent Regiment on the Western Front from 28th July 1915. He would be killed in action on 23rd March 1918 and having no known grave is remembered on the Pozieres Memorial. He is noted as the son of William and Flora Murphy of 8 Wharfdale, Caledonian Road, King’s Cross, London.
