Awarded to Private (No. 22748070) P.F. Mann, Royal Army Ordnance Corps who saw service in Egypt during the Suez Canal Zone troubles in the period 16th October 1951 to 19th October 1954. For a number of years the veterans of the Canal Zone operations campaigned for the right to be issue a medal for their services, and finally in October 2003 permission was granted, with Butler being amongst those who belatedly claimed.
