France: War Cross - Croix de Guerre 1914-1918, reverse dated 1914-1915, this being of an unusual half-size “miniature” form of low-quality single casting with a bronze wash to the obverse an a silver wash to the reverse, measuring 25 mm across the face, as appearing to have been creating for the purposes of a commemorative display form, possibly to be affixed to a unit drape or similar display. This with one Bronze Citation Star for a citation at a regiment or brigade level affixed to a ribbon, that whilst similar to the correct form, is not entirely accurate to the medal. Unusual.
Condition: Good Very Fine.
The award was created on 8 April 1915 and attributed to military personnel who received an individual citation for feats of arms. Versions exist dated 1914-1915, 1914-1916, 1914-1917 and 1914-1918, the latter being more commonly found than the others.
