France: Medal of Honour for Public Assistance - Ministry of the Interior issue (1932-1936), silver. Rare.
Condition: Good Very Fine.
The medal was created on 15 January 1891 to reward services to the public in hospitals, offices and welfare associations. The bronze medal required at least 10 years’ service. Initially, the medal was awarded by the Ministry of the Interior but in 1932 it passed to the Ministry of Health. In 1936 it was replaced by the Order of Public Health. This version of the medal thus had a life of just four years.
