Alexander Brough was born in Largs, Glasgow and having enlisted saw service as a Driver (No. 7365) with the Royal Field Artillery. He would be killed in action on 25th September 1915 – the first day of the Battle of Loos whilst serving with the 71st Brigade, Royal Field Artillery. He was the son of David and J. Brough, of 555 Great Eastern Road, Glasgow and is now remembered on the Loos Memorial.
