Cann, 224th Field Company, later No.1 Bomb Disposal Company and No. 24 Bomb Disposal Company, Royal Engineers who saw service during the defence of France in 1940 before later seeing service in North Africa after the German surrender there and in the Middle East.

Ronald Edward Cann was born on 28th January 1920 and enlisted on 27th April 1939 for four years, he would serve in France with 224th Field Company from 12th January 1940, before returning to the UK on 1st June 1940, on 9th July 1942 at Skegness he is noted as being posted to No.1 Bomb Disposal Company, Royal Engineers and later to No. 24 Bomb Disposal Company, Royal Engineers. He would later in the war travel to North Africa and the Middle East where he was admitted to hospital on 17th December 1944 being released shortly afterwards. He died in Bristol in 1991.
Entitled to at least a 1939-1945 Star and Italy Star. (these being noted in his papers which accompany the medal).
