Ethelbert Cooke originally enlisted into the Territorial Army in 1938 for service as a Gunner (No.S.1460217) with the Royal Artillery, but then transferred as a Sergeant to the Royal Army Service Corps on 23rd December 1944, having seen service during the Second World War.
