George Durham, a labourer born in town of Sheffield, Yorkshire, enlisted into the 7th Foot at Dublin on 30 Nov 1854, aged 19. He is confirmed as having served in the Crimea for one year and four months during which time he was present during the assault on Sebastopol. He was discharged on completion 10 years service.
