Crimea Medal 1854-1855, 1 Clasp: Sebastopol, officially impressed naming awarded to Private J.W. Faire, 1st Dragoon Guards who saw service in Crimea during the Crimean War where he would take part in the siege of Sebastopol which lasted from September 1854 through to September 1855.

Condition: one small edge bruise at 8 o’clock to the obverse rim, otherwise Nearly Extremely Fine
Together with a calling card in the name of Mr. Watkin Lewis Faire, the reverse handwritten ‘Merit Medal – Given to my brother Joseph William Faire for his soldier services in the Russian War of 1854.’
Awarded to Joseph William Faire who saw service as a Private with the 1st Dragoon Guards. He would be court-martialled and confined for 56 days on 16th August 1849 being released on 1st October 1849 for a breach of the articles of war. Later seeing service in Crimea during the Crimean War he would take part in the siege of Sebastopol which lasted from September 1854 through to September 1855.
