Albert Edward Barber was born in Gomersall, Yorkshire and enlisted at Batley, Yorkshire before seeing service with the 11th Battalion, Royal Irish Rifles who had formerly seen service as a Private (No. 27332) with the King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry.
He died at home on 22nd January 1918 and is now buried in Batley Cemetery.
