George Wilson Tyson was born at Cumberland Town, Kegwick, England and having enlisted on 14th December 1915 saw service as a Private (No. 757400) with the 91st City of Hamilton Regiment and later with the 120th (City of Hamilton) Battalion, Canadian Infantry who embarked on the S.S. Empress of Britain at Halifax, Nova Scotia on 14th August 1916. He would enter hospital ‘sick’ at Etaples on 31st January 1918 and would spend a significant amount of time in hospital over the next 14 months.
His papers later note him as being deceased on 13th August 1925, his next of kin being noted as Mrs. J. Gibson of 200 Station Avenue, Hamilton, Ontario.
