Mole, 12th (Service) Battalion, formerly 24th (Service) Battalion (2nd Sportsmen’s), Royal Fusiliers (the City of London Regiment), who came from Leatherhead and later Cobham, Surrey, and was serving out on the Western Front when he died of wounds on 24 March 1917.

George Mole was born in Leatherhead, Surrey, and living in Cobham, and having enlisted at London, then saw service during the Great War initially as a Private (No.3606) with the 24th (Service) Battalion (2nd Sportsmen’s), Royal Fusiliers (the City of London Regiment), before transferring as a Private (No.47307) to the 12th (Service) Battalion, Royal Fusiliers, with whom he was serving out on the Western Front when he died of wounds on 24 March 1917. Mole is buried in Bethune Town Cemetery. Additionally entitled to the Victory Medal.
