British War Medal 1914-1919 awarded to Private W. Seaman, Royal Marine Light Infantry who was the prior recipient of a Long Service and Good Conduct Medal in 1906. Having been released in 1912 he would be recalled for the duration of the Great War.

William Seaman was born in Saffron Walden in 1872 and enlisted into the Royal Marine Light Infantry at Cambridge on 29th December 1890 and subsequently serving as a Private (No. PO. 5649) He would be re-engaged on 2nd January 1903 and would be awarded a Long Service and Good Conduct Medal in 1906.
He would serve until 1912, but would later be recalled for the Great War, serving between August 1914 and June 1919.
