Thomas Henry Clay was from Bradford, Yorkshire and having enlisted on 24th August 1918 giving his trade as a Head Shunter and Fitter with the Midland Railway Company saw service as a Private (No. 311338) and Tank Driver/Mechanist with the Tank Corps. He would be transferred to Class Z Reserve on 15th October 1919
