British War Medal 1914-1919 awarded to Labourer E.O. Larson, for Service with the Royal Navy who born on 2nd July 1903, would see service during the Great War as a Labourer aboard H.M.S. Rover at Devonport Dockyard. At the outbreak of the Second World War he would be employed as Inspector of Ship Riggers at HM Dockyard, Plymouth.

Along with three original Great War period photographic postcards, comprising a portrait image of the recipient in older life, another of the salvaged Torpedo Boat 99 taken at Torbay, and one of the crew of the fleet auxiliary vessel Recovery taken at Lerwick in April 1920;
Edward Owen Larson was born on 2nd July 1903 at 7 Radford Avenue, Plymouth, Devon, the son of David Daniel Larson and Susan Larson (nee Farr). He was at school in 1911 aged 7, but would go on to be employed as a Labourer aboard H.M.S. Rover at Devonport Dockyard during the Great War. He would marry Constance Victoria Lander on 1st August 1925 in Plymouth, and by the time of the 1939 Register would be living at 78 Fletemoor Road, Plymouth – Inspector of Ship Riggers at HM Dockyard.
On 14th February 1952 he embarked RMS Strathaird at London for Colombo, Ceylon, being listed as a Government Officer aged 48. He died in Plymouth on 29th June 1988, aged 84.
