Great Britain - A fine and very rare pair of Irish Galway Militia Officer's Epaulettes contained in their original box, circa 1840's.
Made from silver bullion, with silvered crescent supporting fine twist wire tassels, complete with regimental silvered buttons of an eight pointed star, the topmost point displaced by a Crown, to the centre a title circlet reading Galway Militia enclosing a saltire with shamrock to centre. To the underside of the epaulettes are silk cushions and red leather strap. Contained in a correct pattern storage tin, this now polished.
Condition: Silver bullion now toned, otherwise very good condition consummate with age and usage, one of the end tassels now loose, together with part of one of the wire braided crescents.
