Borough of Portsmouth Tribute Medal to the men of the Naval Brigade in North China in 1900 during the Boxer Rebellion, silver and enamels, hallmarked for Birmingham with date letter ‘b’ for 1901. Scarce.

Condition: some enamel damage, hence only Fine.

This Tribute Medal was given to the men of the Naval Brigade who had seen service in China in 1900. The medals were presented at a banquet given by the Corporation and Inhabitants of the Borough of Portsmouth to the men Admiral Sir Edward Seymour’s Naval Brigade on 11th September 1901. It was at this banquet that the men were presented with their Portsmouth tribute medals.
