Thomas Giddings served as a Sergeant in Captain M. Law’s 3rd Company of the 1st Battalion, Royal Artillery during the Punjab Campaign in the Second Sikh War, being present in action at the Battle of Chilianwala on 13th January 1849 and the Battle of Goojerat on 21st February 1849. On claiming his medal, it was sent to him out in India in February 1852.
