British Army - Rare Edwardian period 9th Lancers ‘Nurses’ Belt Buckle, circa 1905, complete with the gilt wire embroidered blockade belt decorated with Shamrocks. Housed in its original card purchased box. According to online records, such belts were often gifted by officers / soldiers who were being treated by Nurses as a form of thank you gift, but they were also gifted as a souvenir/sweetheart piece. Very Rare.
Condition: Good Condition, the card box still complete with its greaseproof wrapper.
The form is of an unusual two piece buckle in pressed gilded-brass metal onto which the regimental badge of the 9th Queen’s Royal Lancers has been added in silver. I believe this to be a souvenir/sweetheart piece from around the time of the First World War.
