Harmer, 2nd Battalion, East Kent Regiment who saw service in South Africa during the Boer War where he was present on operations with the 2nd Battalion, East Kent Regiment – The Buffs at the Relief of Kimberley on 15th February 1900, in action at Paardeberg on 17th to 26th February 1900, and at Driefontein on 10th March 1900, as well as on operations in the Transvaal. He would subsequently return home to the UK on 10th July 1902 and would be discharged on 21st September 1902.

Frank Harmer was born in Maidstone, Kent and attested on 22nd September 1890 he would see service at home until November 1899 when he would travel to South Africa to take part in the Boer War he would take part in the Boer War being present on operations with the 2nd Battalion, East Kent Regiment – The Buffs at the Relief of Kimberley on 15th February 1900, in action at Paardeberg on 17th to 26th February 1900, and at Driefontein on 10th March 1900, as well as on operations in the Transvaal. He would subsequently return home to the UK on 10th July 1902 and would be discharged on 21st September 1902
