Boer War Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal operations and Great War 1914 Star and clasp trio awarded to Private G.A. Osborne, 1st Battalion, East Kent Regiment who saw service during the Boer War on operations in Cape Colony, Orange Free State and Transvaal before later serving on the Western Front during the Great War from 2nd November 1914 until 13th March 1915 when he was discharged unfit.

Thomas Osborne was born at Peckham, Deptford and attested at Rochester on 17th August 1885 giving his trade as a Shoemaker. He would join the reserve on 25th May 1886 and then re-engage for a further four years for militia service only on 21st May 1891, and re-engage for a further period of four years militia service on 21st May 1895 and then again for a further four years service on 18th May 1899.
Embodied on 18th January 1900 he would then see service in South Africa during the Boer War on operations in Cape Colony, Orange Free State and Transvaal before disembarking on 17th July 1902.
Later re-attesting for the Great War he would see service with 1st Battalion, East Kent Regiment on the Western Front from 2nd November 1914 and was discharged unfit on 13th March 1915.
