Boer War and later Great War group of three awarded to Private E.E. Bull, 2nd Battalion, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment who saw service during the Boer War on operations in Orange Free State before later seeing service during the Great War as a Private with both the Rifle Brigade and Labour Corps.

Ernest Edwin Bull was born in Kirk Langley, Derbyshire and attested at Leicester on 11th February 1892, initially seeing service with the 2nd Battalion, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment at home in the UK, before travelling to the East Indies where he served from 30th January 1894 until 24th October 1899.
After a period on Malta from 25th October 1899 until 4th January 1901 during which he was granted a Mounted Infantry Certificate, Bull would travel to South Africa on 5th January 1901 where he would take part in the Boer War, being present on operations in Orange Free State. He would return home on 18th July 1901 and would be discharged on 10th August 1904.
Bull would later serve during the Great War, initially as a Private (No. 203580) with the Rifle Brigade and later as a Private (No. 361990) with the Labour Corps
