Condition: some contact wear, brass base showing through in parts, hence Fine.
After the exposure of the Congo atrocities by E.D. Morel and Roger Casement, King Leopold II ceded his Independent State to Belgium in 1908. His CHEFFERIE INDIGENE medals were continued with modified designs under Belgian administration. They are normally found with suspension added to facilitate mounting.
