John Frederick Wood was born in West Wickham, Kent, and residing in Hayes Kent, enlisted at Westminster before seeing service on the Western Front on 22nd August 1915. He would be killed in action on 17th November 1916 whilst serving with 1st Labour Battalion, Royal Engineers and is now buried in Guards Cemetery, Lesboeufs.
