Arras casualty 1914-1915 Star awarded to Private A. Lott, 1st Battalion, later 9th (Service) Battalion, Devonshire Regiment who having seen service on the Western Front from 28th April 1915. Lott would be gassed, but having recovered would then be sent back to the Western Front and was killed in action on 2nd April 1917. Having no known grave he is now remembered on the Arras Memorial.

Albert Lott was born in Crediton, Devon and enlisted at Exeter subsequently seeing service as a Private (No. 9998) with the 1st and later 9th (Service) Battalion, Devonshire Regiment and would be present on the Western Front from 28th April 1915. At some stage he would be gassed, he would recover, then sent back to war and later died aged 19, being killed in action on 2nd April 1917 and having no known grave he is now remembered on the Arras Memorial.
