William Richmond saw service as a Private (No. 1378) with the 1st Battalion, 8th (The King’s) Regiment of Foot and was at Nusserabad, India, in 1871. He would later be awarded an Army Long Service and Good Conduct Medal with gratuity on 1st May 1898.
