Walter Augustus Ellis was discharged at London on 5th October 1911 having served with 2nd Battalion, Middlesex Regiment. He had previously seen service in South Africa during the Boer War where he earnt entitlement to a Queen’s South Africa Medal with six clasps and a King’s South Africa Medal with two clasps
