Awarded to Burgher D.J.J. Jacobs who saw service during the Anglo-Boer War of 1899-1902. The Anglo-Boere Oorlog Medal 1899-1902 was issued in 1920 by the Union Government to officers and men of the former Boer republics for loyal service in the war against the British. To qualify for the medal proof had to be provided that they had fought against the British without surrendering or taking parole or the oath of allegiance prior to 31st May 1902.
