Hoskins, 8th Battalion, Canadian Infantry (Manitoba Regiment) who saw service on the Western Front from 16th July 1915 and who was killed in action on 21st April 1916, now being buried in the Railways Dugouts Burial Ground near Ypres.

Alfred Hoskins was born in London, England and attested into the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force on 22nd December 1914 giving his trade as a Baker initially serving with the 44th Battalion before transferring to the 32nd Battalion, and finally 8th Battalion, Canadian Infantry. (Manitoba Regiment)
He would transfer from 32nd Battalion to 8th Battalion in France on 16th July 1915 serving in the field from 22nd July 1915. He would be admitted to hospital on 25th August 1915 sick, before rejoining his unit on 2nd September 1915.
Hoskins was killed in action on 21st April 1916 and is now buried in the Railways Dugouts Burial Ground near Ypres, he is noted as the husband of Luisa Hoskins of 12 Breton Road, Rochester, Kent.
