An unusual Second World War Merchant Navy Atlantic, Mediterranean and Pacific service and post war Army Palestine Jewish Revolt, Malayan Emergency, Korean War and Arabian Peninsula operations group awarded to Corporal J. Hodges, King’s Own Scottish Borderers, late of the Merchant Navy who serving during the Second World War, took part in the naval operations in the Atlantic, Mediterranean and Pacific before later transferring to the Army where he served with the King’s Own Scottish Borderers with whom he would serve in Palestine during the Jewish Revolt, in Malaya during the Malayan Emergency, in Korea during the Korean War and finally during the Arabian Peninsula operations at some stage during the period from 1st January 1957 to 30th June 1960.

Ernest Fuge Hodges saw service with the Merchant Navy during the Second World War seeing duty in the Atlantic, Mediterranean and Pacific during the course of the conflict. He would later transfer to the Army, serving as a Private, later Corporal (No. 14472233) with the King’s Own Scottish Borderers.
Whilst serving with the King’s Own Scottish Borderers he would serve in Palestine during the Jewish Revolt, in Malaya during the Malayan Emergency, in Korea during the Korean War and finally during the Arabian Peninsula operations at some stage during the period from 1st January 1957 to 30th June 1960.
