An interesting Great War Western Front 1914-1915 Star trio, Iraq Rebellion, Second World War service and Territorial Efficiency Medal with Second Award bar group awarded to Private F.C. Wilson, 24th (County of London) Battalion, London Regiment, later Royal Army Medical Corps, Royal Engineers and later Royal Artillery who saw service on the Western Front from 11th November 1915 efore being discharged on 28th August 1916. He would re-enlist in the Royal Army Medical Corps with whom he would see service in Mesopotamia during the Iraq Rebellion which lasted from 10th December 1919 to 17th November 1920 before he would then be discharged for a second time on 28th May 1921. He would later re-enlist for a third time seeing service with the 23rd (County of London) Battalion, London Regiment from 13th May 1929 until 1st June 1938, and then he would re-enlist for a fourth and final time on 7th July 1938, going on to see service with Anti-Aircraft units in the Territorial Army.

Frederick Charles Wilson was born near Battersea, London and having attested would see service as a Private (No. 4717) with the 24th (County of London) Battalion, London Regiment (The Queen’s) on the Western Front from 11th November 1915, later see service with the Royal Army Medical Corps as a Private (No. 119245, No. 200598 and No. 725016). He is noted as having been awarded a Silver War Badge upon his discharge for sickness on 28th August 1916. Re-enlisting in the army on 2nd June 1917, he would see service as a Private (No. 7250716) in the Royal Army Medical Corps would go on to see service in Mesopotamia during the Iraq Rebellion which lasted from 10th December 1919 to 17th November 1920, he would then be discharged for a second time on 28th May 1921.
He would later re-enlist and see service with the 23rd (County of London) Battalion, London Regiment from 13th May 1929 until 1st June 1938, before re-enlisting on 7th July 1938 when he would see service with the 27th Anti-Aircraft Battalion, Royal Engineers (Territorial Army), he would go on to see service during the Second World War including at the Royal Artillery Depot and with the 17th Field Regiment before finally being discharged on 11th April 1945.
