Awarded to Private (No. 5377657) A.H. Walker, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, who saw service out in Burma during the operations there which lasted from 22nd December 1930 until 25th March 1932, before later being awarded the Regular Army Long Service and Good Conduct Medal.
Likely seeing Second World War Service, Walker may have later changed his name and served under an alias, as a man with his service number appears on a casualty list with the name of W. Round, listing him as missing on 28th May 1940. at a time when the Ox and Bucks Light Infantry were engaged in heavy defensive fighting around the village of Hazebrouck whilst acting as a rear-guard allowing other forces to retreat and be evacuated from the beaches at Dunkirk.
