William A. Hendy was born in St. Michael’s, Bristol and having enlisted at Bristol saw service as a Private (No. 10796) with the 1st Battalion, Somerset Light Infantry on the Western Front from 1st June 1915 and died of wounds on 14th June 1915. Now buried in Ferme-Olivier Cemetery, he is noted as the son of Mr. and Mrs. T. Hendy of Bristol.
