Troop Sergeant-Major Thomas Ward was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal and £10 Annuity on 30 September 1915. In 1881 he was recommended for the Long Service and Good Conduct medal, and of his 31 years service, eleven were served in India. He was discharged on 25 May 1897, his intended place of residence being Corbridge on Tyne, Northumberland. Ward was still alive in 1926.
