A reconquest of the Sudan pair awarded to Private C. Hawk, 1st Battalion, Royal Warwickshire Regiment who would take part in the reconquest of the Sudan including at the Battle of The Atbara on 8th April 1898.

Charles Thomas Hawk was born in Lewisham, London and enlisted at Warwick on 12th April 1894 subsequently seeing service as a Private (No. 4194) with the 1st Battalion, Royal Warwickshire Regiment. He would serve at home until 5th November 1895 when he travelled to Malta. Remaining there until 20th January 1897 when he would travel to Egypt and take part in the reconquest of the Sudan including at the Battle of TheAtbara on 8th April 1898.
Hawk would travel to India on 18th October 1898 where he would remain until 16th December 1902, before he returned home to the UK on 17th December 1902. He would finally be discharged on 11th April 1910.
