A rare Reconquest of the Sudan Battle of Khartoum casualty pair to Private P. Keenan, 1st Battalion, Cameron Highlanders who would be present during the Nile Expedition of 1898 where he would take part in the Battle of Khartoum on 2nd September 1898 suffering a slight bullet wound to the left hand. He would later take part in the Boer War in South Africa being wounded on 4th June 1900 during the fighting at Pretoria. He later died of disease at Pretoria on 1st January 1901.

P. Keenan saw service as a Private (No. 3861) with the 1st Battalion, Cameron Highlanders and was present during the Nile Expedition of 1898 where he would take part in the Battle of Khartoum on 2nd September 1898 during which he would suffer a slight bullet wound to the left hand. He would later serve with the Mounted Infantry of the Cameron Highlanders during the Boer War, and would take part in the action at Johannesburg as well as in the operations in Cape Colony and Orange Free State. Keenan would be wounded in the fighting at Pretoria on 4th June 1900, and later died of disease on 1st January 1901.
