A rare Korean War Chaplain’s group awarded to Chaplain H.J. White, Royal Navy who having held several pre-war and early war appointments would be appointed a Chaplain in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve, and a Chaplain in the Royal Navy in 1946. He would serve aboard H.M.S. Belfast during the Korean War, with his final appointment being as Vicar of St. Mary Aldermary in the City of London from 1962.

Harold Kent White was born in 1905 and gained a B.A. in Theology at Oxford in 1927 and an M.A. in 1937. He would be ordained as a Deacon in 1928 and a Priest in 1929. Curate of St. George Church, Tredegar between 1928 and 1937, Librarian of Pusey House, Oxford with licence to officiate in the Diocese of Oxford and Permission to Officiate in the Diocese of Monmouth 1937-1941. He would appointed Perpetual Curate at Beeston Hill from 1941-1944 and Chaplain of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve between 1944-1946, being based at Hasdrubal and St. Angelo. Appointed a Chaplain of the Royal Navy in 1946. He served on Goldfinch, 1946-47, Impregnable 1947-48, Royal Air Force’s Chaplain’s School, 1948-50 and aboard H.M.S. Belfast from 1950-53 during the Korean War.
He would go on to serve with Collingwood from 1953-1955, Highflyer 1955-57 and Pembroke from 1957-1960. After service in the Navy, he was appointed Rector of Waldershare with Coldred, 1960-62, Curate-in-Charge of Tilmanstone, 1960-62, Vicar of St. Mary Aldermary, Diocese of London from 1962 and had Permission to Officiate in the Diocese of Southwark, 1962-1969
