Nigel John Guile was appointed a Second Lieutenant (on probation) in the Dorset Army Cadet Force in the London Gazette of 11th April 1995, this being effective from 27th January 1995 and would be promoted Lieutenant on 27th January 1997, this being announced in the London Gazette of 1st April 1997. He subsequently resigned his commission on 18th November 2003 and would be awarded his Cadet Forces Medal in the London Gazette of 13th March 2007
