Charles Cubitt saw service as a Private (No. 6731) with the 13th Hussars on the Western Front from 15th December 1914 and would go on to be awarded the Military Medal in the London Gazette of 20th August 1919 for actions in Mesopotamia. The Gazette notes that Cubitt was originally from Dartford.
