A Great War Old Contemptibles and Second World War Home Guard group awarded to Gunner J. Lyons, 118th Heavy Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery who saw service on the Western Front from 5th November 1914 and would later go on to see service with the Home Guard during the Second World War.
Group of 5: 1914 Star with slide on 5th Aug-22nd Nov bar; (No.39637 GNR. J. LYONS. R.G.A.) British War Medal and Victory Medal; (39037 GNR. J. LYONS. R.A.) Defence Medal. The first three loose-mounted for wear.

Old Contemptibles Association Lapel Badge, reverse numbered ‘4114'.
Royal Artillery shoulder tabs, Great War period matching pair.
The recipient's tunic medal ribbon bar.
Home Guard lapel badge, gilt and enamels.
Silver War Badge, reverse numbered: 'B114405'. This not awarded to Lyons, but instead awarded to a Pte. H. Sibthorpe Labour Corps. However it came with the medals to Lyons when purchased by the London Medal Company, therefore believed to be related in some form.
