Charles Browning Keppie saw service during the Great War as a temporary 2nd Lieutenant with the 2nd Battalion, Rifle Brigade, and was present out on the Western Front when he died of wounds received during the German March Offensive on 27th March 1918. Aged 29, he was the son of Peter and Agnes Aitken Keppie, of 69, Abbotsford Place, Glasgow. Keppie is buried in St Sever Cemetery, Rouen.
