A scarce original First World War period Good Luck Charm in the form of a gilt button style pin badge, the title surround inscribed '1st Battalion Good Luck Regiment', the centre with embossed horseshoe in which the title 'ALF'S BUTTON' rests. Diameter 23mm.

'Alf’s Button' would have been purchased by a loved one and given to be worn unofficially behind the collar of the soldier's uniform, in the thought that it would bring 'Good Luck'.
