Frederick Jasper Ward saw service as a Private (No. G-1865) with the 8th Battalion, Royal Sussex Regiment on the Western Front from 24th July 1915 and would later be awarded the Military Medal in the London Gazette of 23rd July 1919 where he is noted as being from Horsham. This Gazette largely covers awards for actions in November 1918.
Ward was demobilised to Class Z Reserve on 7th April 1919.
